Benjamin Edward Stiles and William Henry Stiles indenture, 1851.

This collection contains an indenture dated March 5, 1851, by which Alexander A. Smets, Robert Lachlison, James Lachlison, and Amos Scudder secured a loan from Benjamin E. Stiles (1794-1855) and William H. Stiles (1809-1865). Benjamin and William Stiles were the executors of the estate of Joseph Stiles (1758-1838) and the property used to secure the loan was located in the Yamacraw area of Savannah, Georgia.
